A plan of two years, which has been in the making, and the accompanying countless hours of joint membership teamwork and discussions, an idea finally became a reality. The Bureau of State Parks through the effort of the Tuscarora State Park Manager, our request for a club house/office/meeting/storage room was approved. It will be located at the right side of the field paralleling the tall grass in the location typically designated for the food vendors. The next set of logistics needs to be finalized. Size, shape, design, location, color, and financials are established. Having said that, we have allotted space for provisions to each of those for aesthetic and functional improvements. In years past, there has been several requests to offer donations benefiting the club in memory of family or friends who have gone to fly in a better place. Unfortunately, they were turned down to maintain peace and tranquility in the club. Now would be an opportunity to memorialize someone with a newly developed portion of the club that no one has yet named or laid claim to i.e. “The Jane Doe Memorial Club Office” or “in memory of these fine people….” This is not a requirement but would be appreciated. Each of us inherited the field, and all that goes along with it, from the elders all have invested time, sweat and dedication to what we have today. I believe it is our moral and ethical responsibility to turn it over to the next generation by raising it to the next level.
