Overnight parking for “out of the area” flyers
The Tuscarora State Park Manager has granted a waiver for certain events and visitors. We anticipate having three sanctioned events scheduled in the 2022 calendar year, one each for April, June, and August.
Previously flyers from extended locations, especially out-of-state, raised concerns of towing their trailers to the Tuscarora flying club field and leave after the event, especially the night events, only to tow it back at 7:00 AM to begin setting up for the day.
The Tuscarora State Park Manager reviewed the situation and offered a proposal. If any flyer or team, scheduled to fly at one of these 3 events, and chooses to leave their towed vehicle/equipment at the field overnight, that will be permissible provided the driver notify the State Park Office via a club officer of the intent, date, and type of vehicle within two weeks of the event and display a permit (supplied by the club). This is done to alert the Park Ranger on duty the vehicle and equipment are there legally.
This courtesy is NOT intended for nor extended to local flyers. There will be NO camping at the airfield under any conditions.
· Procedures for problem spectators or flyers
In the event you are at the field and a situation arises where the possibility it may become confrontational, leave it be. Call the park office and request a Ranger. In the event there is no ranger readily available, dial 911 and tell the operator to connect you with a park ranger. There is a ranger on duty 24/7.
