The interest in RC started with cars but I have always had an interest in aircraft, particularly helicopters. Years ago I saw a local guy flying a RC helicopter outside of his business so I talked with him about it and he recommended using a simulator. The thought of the expense and difficulty put it on the back burner but in 2020 someone brought it up in conversation and I mentioned that I had always wanted a RC helicopter. So, I followed the advice and looked for a simulator.
Not knowing how much I was going to like it or if it would hold my interest, I started with an older and used version of Real Flight. I watched a ton of videos on flying, how and what to practice, etc. Once I started, the challenge of it kept me coming back and I was determined to conquer it. I spent months simming before buying anything. After about 4-5 months I found my 470 and a used TX and got started. One of the members took the time to meet up with me to give me tips and go over my setup, so that’s how I ended up in the club.
The challenge of it all keeps me engaged. There is something incredibly satisfying about making a plane or Heli fly and the majority of people I have met through it are welcoming and helpful. I intend to extend that same welcoming and assistance to anyone interested in this hobby
